Conference Summary

Having provided the latest in lipid mediator research for 23 years, this conference will focus on new developments in the area of lysophospholipid signaling, particularly lysophosphatidic acid (LPA), sphingosine 1-phosphate (S1P), ceramides (Cer) and specialized pro-resolving lipid mediators (SPM).

The program will cover the role of lipid mediators in immunology, neurobiology, metabolic and cardiovascular diseases, cancer, and microbiology. It will also feature recent advances and findings regarding their signaling and function, clinical applications, analytical and diagnostic approaches, pathophysiology cell biology, and biochemistry. Early-career researchers and those from historically excluded groups are especially encouraged to attend and present their findings.

Goals and Takeaways

· New insights into lipid mediators within biological functions, health, and diseases

· Cutting-edge analytical and diagnostic methodologies, and their application from basic research to clinic

· Fresh insights into SPM functions

· Ongoing clinical approaches with LPA, S1P, and Cer

· Novel aspects of lipid signaling in health and diseases

Program Topics

· Lipid mediators in neurobiology, immunology, and inflammation

· Lipid mediators in microbiology and cancer

· Lipid mediators in metabolic and cardiovascular diseases

· Sphingolipid signaling

· Lipid mediators in drug discovery, diagnostics, and clinical trials

· Biochemistry and cell biology of lipid mediators and their receptors

· Lipid mediators in pathophysiology

· Novel aspects of lipid mediators

Workshops

Attendees will have the opportunity to discuss their research at a Meet the Experts session with leading investigators in the field in a casual atmosphere.

A Career Development Workshop will be dedicated to informing early-career researchers and faculty about current opportunities and supportive programs, as well as career tracks within industry and academia.
