Genome Engineering: Research and Applications

Since 2010, this essential conference has focused on the field of genome and epigenome editing, as well as the newest engineering technologies used in the field. This year’s program will present findings on genome editing outcomes, pre-clinical translation of editing technologies, in vivo delivery of genome editors, and clinical trials of genome editors. 

Genome editing technologies are rapidly becoming some of the most promising discoveries in the history of genetics. Treatments presented at this conference have received approval for patient use in the U.S. and Europe, including exa-cel, an ex vivo autologous, genome-edited cell therapy for sickle cell disease. Also previously discussed at this SRC, a promising in vivo personalized genome editing medicine was rapidly developed and successfully administered to treat an infant with a rare genetic disease.

Workshops

A Meet the Experts session will be held during a lunch session, during which early-career researchers participate in small-group discussions with leading speakers and senior investigators from academia and industry.

The Career Development Workshop will feature panelists from academia and industry, discussing their career trajectories in an informal setting. The session will include a Q&A for an honest discussion of the challenges researchers face in their careers and how to navigate them.
