Conference Summary

In its second outing, this conference will focus on hippo pathways as an emerging and rapidly growing field, particularly on its fundamental biology and therapeutic development for related cancer drugs.

This year’s program will allow researchers of all levels to learn about recent findings and facilitate collaboration within the community. Topics will feature discussion of new and developing cancer drugs, which should also appeal to members within the biotech industry, with unpublished data being shared throughout the conference.

Attendees will learn about:

· The importance and function of hippo as a major signaling pathway with broad biological applications.

· How the alteration of hippo signaling contributes to cancer and other diseases.

· New concepts about drug developments that target the hippo pathway.

Program Topics

· Mechanisms of hippo pathway regulation

· Subcellular dynamics of hippo signaling

· Transcriptional regulation of hippo signaling in cancer and beyond

· Regulatory networks and integration of model systems for the hippo pathway

· Hippo signaling in stem cells and regeneration

· Hippo crosstalk with other pathways in development and diseases

· Hippo signaling in non-cancer diseases

· Hippo pathway in rare and pediatric cancers

· Hippo pathway and cancer microenvironment

· Broader roles of the hippo pathway in cancer signaling

· Hippo-related therapy and resistance factors in cancers

· Drugging the hippo pathway for cancer treatment

Workshops

A Meet the Expert workshop will be hosted by leading experts, focusing on the journeys behind their milestone discoveries, current knowledge gaps in the field, and the application of emerging technologies.

A Career Development Workshop will be led by senior investigators from academia and industry, as well as journal editors. Topics will include career choices, job interviews, funding applications, and manuscript preparation.
