Abstracts

Want to share cutting-edge research findings with colleagues? Consider submitting an abstract for a talk or an in-person poster. Invited Speakers may submit an abstract or a talk summary.

How to Submit

When completing registration for the conference, registrants are welcome to submit an abstract.

Abstract Tips

  • Abstracts must be in English and limited to 5,000 characters.
  • List the presenting author first on the abstract.
  • Presenting authors (who may be a substitute for the primary author) must be registered to attend.
  • Refer to the abstract confirmation email for how to access and edit an abstract after submission.
  • Abstract submission is optional for attendees, but it is required for invited speakers and session chairs who are speaking.

Abstracts for Short Talks

All submitted abstracts are considered for a short talk unless the submitter has indicated that he/she only wants to present a poster during registration. Conference organizers review and select the abstracts. If an abstract is selected, the submitter will receive an email notification approximately three weeks before the conference. If selected for a short talk, the submitter will present an in-person poster.

Abstracts for Posters

Poster presentations are interactive ways to engage with colleagues and present research. If a participant submitted an abstract, they are automatically eligible to present.

Declined Abstracts

Conference organizers and FASEB reserve the right to decline any submitted abstract for a presentation or poster presentation that lacks scientific content or merit, merely announces the availability of a resource or service, is found not in compliance with the SRC Abstract, Speaker, Presenter Terms, or does not otherwise meet the requirements of the organizers or FASEB.

Poster Presentations

Each poster board measures 4 ft tall × 8 ft wide and holds four posters, two per side. Your display area is 4 ft × 4 ft, and your poster should not exceed 46 × 46 in (117 × 117 cm). A 1-inch border around the edge of the board cannot be used. Push pins will be provided and boards will be numbered.

Oral Presentations

Registration

  • Invited speakers and session chairs must register, pay for the conference, and submit an abstract or talk summary at least eight (8) weeks before the conference. Timely registration and abstract/talk summary submission reserve your place on the program agenda.
  • Abstracts/talk summaries are submitted during registration. Session chairs who are not presenting do not need to provide an abstract/talk summary.
  • Speakers and session chairs must pay the applicable registration fee unless otherwise notified by FASEB.

Reimbursement

  • Register with the email address you will use for reimbursement communication.
  • The full financial reconciliation of the conference must be completed before any reimbursements can be issued. This process typically takes 6–8 weeks post-conference, though delays may occur. Recipients will be contacted only if selected.
  • Reimbursement decisions and allocation amounts are determined by the conference organizers, not FASEB, and depend on the availability of external funding.
  • Reimbursements are not guaranteed
  • To help us process reimbursements efficiently, please do not contact FASEB to inquire about reimbursement timing. All selected recipients will be notified directly.
  • Conference fees are not reduced or waived for partial conference attendance.
  • Speakers must attend three (3) days and three (3) nights to be eligible for reimbursement.

Notes

Click here for resources about making presentations accessible.

In the session room, FASEB will provide the following items:

  • Speaker Podium
  • LCD projector (PC and Mac compatible)
  • PC laptop available for speaker presentations
  • Microphone
  • Laser pointer
  • Aisle microphone for audience Q&A

Speakers should bring their presentation on an USB drive or upload it to the session laptop in advance of their presentation. FASEB requires that speakers use the provided laptop to minimize technological glitches. Speakers using a Mac laptop must bring the appropriate adapters necessary to connect the laptop to the projector. An aspect ratio of 16:9 is requested for presentations as that will help eliminate any formatting inconsistencies. Additional instructions regarding equipment will be provided prior to the conference.
