Biological Acetylation in Health and Disease

Since 2007, this FASEB Science Research Conference (SRC) has been the only scientific meeting of its kind dedicated to exploring protein acetylation and deacetylation, from basic to translational research. The meeting has now evolved to converge the interests of researchers in all areas of dynamic protein acylation. This meeting has aided the development of clinical and therapeutic breakthroughs, especially in the areas of epigenetics, chemical biology, and translational medicine. 

This year’s program will build on its crucial role in seeding therapeutic innovations, refining drug targets, and shaping translational directions that directly impact human health. Its focus will be on reversible protein acetylation, a critical regulatory mechanism that influences a broad spectrum of cellular processes. This includes gene expression and chromatin structure as well as signaling, development, and metabolism. 

This conference will also provide an in-depth exploration of the biological functions, mechanisms, structure, and regulation of histone acetyltransferases (HATs), histone deacetylases (HDACs), acetylation readers, and related protein acylation modifications.
