Dynamic DNA Structures in Biology

Since 2008, this conference has explored biophysical and biological aspects of unusual DNA structures, their roles in replication, recombination, and repair, as well as their contribution to disease pathology. It brings together early-career and experienced researchers to foster collaborative projects, support new research initiatives, and translate fundamental advances into therapeutic approaches.

Research presented at this conference in the past has paved the way for future therapeutic breakthroughs to treat diseases. This includes studies using CRISPR targeting strategies to induce repeat contractions or to silence gene expression of the pathological repeats. This year’s program will continue to examine DNA structures, including their normal role in replication, recombination and repair, and disease pathology.

Attendees will learn about:

· A variety of non-B DNA structures that are present in the genomes of many organisms.

· Cutting-edge techniques to identify, visualize, and analyze such structures. 

· The normal role of these structures and their pathological effects. 

· The most current approaches to mitigate the formation and biological effects of these structures.

Meet the Expert sessions will take place during selected meals, providing opportunities for in-depth discussions with speakers and early-career researchers. 

A Career Development Workshop will feature a panel discussion with professionals from industry, publishing, and academia, as well as small-group discussions and Q&A sessions.
