Conference Summary

Since 2016, this conference has brought together investigators focused on basic mechanisms of cancer development, translational research, and early-phase clinical research. This year’s program will focus on the basic mechanisms of signal transduction, how these go awry in cancer treatment, and the translation of these insights into the development of new therapies. The sessions will disseminate the most up-to-date knowledge and technologies surrounding mechanisms and therapeutic targeting of cancer cell signaling pathways.

Attendees will learn about:

· Current advances in translating discoveries from the bench to the clinic.

· The intersection of cancer signaling pathways and nutrient metabolism, including cellular and systemic metabolic influences.

· Cutting-edge methodologies for understanding mechanisms of drug action and developing new therapeutic options, including chemical biology and systems pharmacology.

· Successes and limitations associated with targeting tumor microenvironmental signaling.

· The importance of signal transduction as it specifically relates to cancer therapies.

Program Topics

· Lipid kinases in cancer

· Systemic signaling and metabolism

· Oncogenic signaling

· Epigenetic regulation of cancer

· Systems pharmacology of cancer therapies

· Signaling in the tumor microenvironment

· Kinase-targeted cancer therapies

Workshops

A Meet the Experts session during lunch will facilitate interactions between early-career scientists and established experts in the field, including those from academia, industry, publishing, and government affairs.

A Career Development Workshop will guide researchers through career trajectories, including discussions on independent research, scientific writing, and more.
